The position In Qatar University<\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Public Health at the College of Health Sciences is seeking a faculty member (open rank) in Biostatistics\/ Epidemiology for its graduate and undergraduate academic programs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duties & Responsibilities In Qatar University<\/mark><\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Teach courses in biostatistics (basic and advanced) as well as in epidemiology at the graduate and undergraduate levels<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Maintain an active research agenda and secure funding through competitive national or international grants<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Mentor the academic development of graduate and undergraduate students through the supervision of theses and capstone projects, respectively<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Contribute to committees that serve the mission of the College and support the operations of the department<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Qualifications<\/mark><\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. A Ph.D. degree in biostatistics or epidemiology, or a highly related discipline\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Experience in teaching both biostatistics and epidemiology to public health and\/or health related students in an academic or clinical setting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. A record of high quality peer-reviewed research publications preferably in the area of clinical research<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Experience in\u00a0 attracting research grants<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Experience in supervising graduate and undergraduate students<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Familiarity with educational technologies in higher education<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Education qualifications, such as post graduate diploma in higher education or equivalent, are highly desired\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    8. Willingness to work collaboratively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary team to strengthen public health education\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    9. Experience in providing consultation to clinical researchers in design and analysis\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    10. Excellent written and oral communication skills\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    11. Effective teaching and assessment skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    12. Arabic language is preferable, but not mandatory<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
