The Norwegian Refugee Council is an international non-governmental organization that operates in more than 30 countries. Headquarters in Oslo – Norway. NRC resumed its work in Sudan in March 2020 and has since established different area offices in Gedaref, Fasher, El Geneina, Kosti and South Kordofan. NRC is mainly involved in different core competencies such as Education, Protection, Laundry, Shelter and Livelihoods, Food Security and Camp Management. The current country office is located in Khartoum.
As a priority, NRC is recruiting for a Human Resources and Administration Assistant to be part of the establishment of the NRC program in Sudan.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
Assist in the implementation of the HR portfolio and administrative functions in accordance with the Action Plan for Sudan.
Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
Promote and share ideas to improve the HR function and administrator
Assist in the implementation of HR policies and procedures at the office level.
Provide support in recruitment processes, including advertising, filling applications, inviting candidates, arranging interview venues, etc.
Update employee records and files, including contracts, leaves, medical estimates, etc. and ensure documents are properly saved on O365.
Create monthly records and reports such as employee lists, vacations, and other HR statistics.
Processing and following up on medical and insurance coverage claims.
Preparation of employee contributions to the relevant statutory bodies (Social Security, Pension, etc.)
Under the direction of the HR Coordinator/Director, the Assistant is responsible for maintaining trackers and NRC people systems (employees, attendance, leave, overtime, and health insurance database), provides information on request, and compiles information for HR reports.
Assist in the recruitment of staff throughout the process.
Ensure that the monthly timesheet is worked out by staff within the office area and kept in HR files.
To maintain motivated worker records in line with relevant NRC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
To facilitate and advise employees on local medical insurance.
Scan, print and copy as required, and ensure NRC Sudan file tree is updated with scans of all personal personnel files.
Provide secretarial support such as writing, minutes taking, drafting letters, translating English or Arabic documents, etc.
Any other tasks assigned by the direct manager.

Professional competencies:

Experience from working as a HR Assistant and/administrator in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
Documented results related to job responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, management, human resources, or any other related field
1-2 years of work experience in a Human Resources or Administration position
Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English
Ability to meet deadlines.
Achieving set standards and targets
Ability to communicate (vertically and horizontally)
