Position Purpose Summary:
The Translator is responsible for interpreting Arabic texts into English and vice-versa.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Take responsibility for checking scripts whether in terms of content, grammatical or spelling mistakes or formatting errors.
- Facilitate effective communication by converting one spoken or written language to another.
- Able to extract and summarize the essential information in a given document.
- Relay concepts and ideas between languages.
- Convert written materials from one language into another, such publications, and web pages, formal letters, promos…
- Apply correct Arabic language suitable for the target age group and based on the editorial policy of the channel / company.
- Edit texts to accurately reflect language (in accordance with social and ethical aspects)
- Edit/Translate/Check of the translated scripts provided by the Dubbing Studios.
- Review texts of programs produced internally.
- Knowledge of religious, scientific and geographical, historical information, techniques and technical matters relating to programs, videos and series dubbing with the ability to solve problems and develop oneself.
Education
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Journalism, English literature, Arabic, Translation or any related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in similar role
