Urgent requirement for a Database Administrator in Doha on a 1-year contract renewable for a confidential project.
Responsibilities:
- This resource is expected to take part in administration of systems infrastructure reporting to IT systems Manager.
- Preferred certification as a Microsoft Certified DBA and Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate.
- Knowledge in Oracle and SQL DB management and replication.
- Proactively monitoring DB performance and capacity planning.
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches and hot fixes on DB’s.
- Proactively maintain all DB infrastructure technologies to maintain high service uptime.
- Perform change management, problem management and incident correlation on re-occurring issue.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 4 years experience in IT Storage/Backup/Network or General IT.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL proficiency.
- Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server.
- Familiarity with database security principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
